I saw this at our local membership warehouse club that starts with a C. They were cheaper there and I fell in love with the whole series! Science, English, World History and US History! I wish my kids were still in middle school so that I would have an excuse to buy them. Yet, I may just buy them for myself :-). They look like they would be a fun supplement for the kids’ curriculum in middle school. Very colorful and full of information that is well presented with quizzes and answers at the end.

A good book indeed with nice illustration.

This book is great, and my child is improving in math, but I must say that there has been some mistakes with the answer key. I really like the workbook examples and illustrations.

Going to use this as supplemental for home school. We will use it over several years getting deeper in to subjects as we go. Looks like a fab resource and will save me HOURS of time. I bought the whole set (World History, Ancient History, Science, Math and English). So did two of my fellow home school mom friends. We are all looking forward to using them as part of our curriculum.

colorful images and facts are stored in a presented way for kids to learn from, problem solving makes it more fun!

I purchased this book for myself, I feel my math skills are lacking, hope it helps

I bought this for my son to learn beyond what he’s covering in his elementary instruction. He likes it quite a bit and seems to have picked up quite a few concepts. I think this would be a good resource for children that are about 8-12.
R. Gupta –
Few mistakes in the book but overall book is nice and very helpful.

Fantastic book. My 9 year old loves math and I’ve been running him through this book to feed that appetite. Its well written and fun to read (and thats saying something for a math book). I’ve liked it enough that I may buy my 13 year old a copy as well, to use as a reference.
If I had to identify a weakness I’d say that while it simplifies and summarizes well, it is limited in the number of exercises that it provides a student, which would be helpful in cementing the new techniques and tools that each chapter offers. There is a “test” for each chapter, but at 10 questions this is minimal. I believe that this was likely an intentional choice on the part of the author, which yielded the benefits of delivering a book that is less than 1/2 the size and thus less intimidating (and more portable I suppose). I’m on the hunt for a supplementary book of – you guessed it – exercises that he can use for this purpose, and until I find such a beast I’ll just help with examples of my own design.
Anyway, the book is really outstanding and is the best I’ve found from the 6 or so I purchased for my 2 kids. Happy learning!

Helpful tips. It is well organized and straight forward.

My 13 yr old has been having some math problems more related to a crabby teacher than anything else and he really likes this book; picking it up and working through it almost without being reminded. It is written with a positive and friendly vibe and I’m relieved that he’s enjoying math again.

This book is very helpful to me. I am a mom of a girl with Autism so she needs alot of help with homework. And I needed help with all this new math. It breaks down how do different areas of math step by step and even gives math questions at the end of each chapter
Cody Graham –
The book does a great job explaining and breaking down each and every subject you may see in 8th math. It’s a great supplemental material for students who may need a little extra help, but also great material for teachers to review.
ONE PROBLEM is the section on volume which displays height incorrectly, but otherwise great!

was thinking this had all the highschool stuff math and come college it does have a lot but 1st time i tried this company and at 1st not happy thought was wrong and not what needed until i read it then it did have what i needed but just the basics

This book is a terrific resource. My daughter is in 8th grade and has always struggled in math, I was thinking of getting yet another workbook to practice until I saw this book. It changed my perspective – instead of yet another book full of frustrating problems, what about a kid friendly reference book? Upon its arrival, she started reading and doing the limited problems at the end of each chapter, however she did not make it through the book before school started. She brings it to school every day and the kids at her table all share the book to help them when they are stuck. It also got rave reviews from her teacher! I wish I would have purchased it a couple of years ago.

This notebook is VERY informational and useful. However, points are docked because I already understand everything in it. I was hoping to learn something more challenging. This was targeted to middle schoolers, it was made for middle school math. Do not get this if you want to get ahead of your middle school class.

Good refresher information.

Ordered this book for my 5th grade daughter because we have struggled to get through homework the last few weeks. We have already used this book as a reference several times this week. Upon the books arrival my daughter was walking around the house reading the book (she loves reading, and is very open about her distaste for math!) The book is very child and parent friendly. There is a table of contents, the sections are only a couple of pages, there are even practice pages! The layout of the book is colorful, full of side notes, and illustrations that really appeal to children. I have spent lots of money on workbooks and math worksheets, this book is worth every penny. I am very pleased, and my daughter is happy to look through it (she has made a special place for the book on her bookshelf).

I bought this for my grandson who is in 7th grade. He was struggling so much in algebra that his mother was going to get him a tutor. I asked if he had read the book yet, and he said no because he didn’t think it would help. I told him that before he starts with a tutor to try the book. Two weeks later, he had a big math test, and he got a 97%. After school, he came running up to me all excited—“the book worked!” He said I now know how to find X. If that wasn’t enough of a recommendation, he said he showed it to his brother who is in college, and he told him “Read this, and you won’t struggle with math.” The 7th grader has now passed two math tests with high grades. He’s happy and so are his parents.

I use this to homeschool my boys. They are in 7th and 8th grade. The love they the design of this book. It teaches without feeling intimidating. It does not really have enough to stand alone for math, but it isn’t supposed to. We use it as the framework. It helps me include all of the concepts I need to teach them. I just spend more time on the chapters they seem to need help with. We even love the soft feel of the cover. My boys plan to go back to public school in high school, but we will keep this book for them to use when they need to review. I wish I had found these books sooner.

Just like the format of these books, almost like student notes with hand drawn pictures and things like that. It has questions and answers in each section to reinforce the ideas learned. These will be great reference books for the kids in elementary to jr. high school. Covers all the basics, fractions, variables, roots, powers, word problems, statistics, graphing, area, great stuff to learn all the basics. I think it’s a great reference for all the questions the kids will have learning some of these topics.

Got this late in the summer for my 7th and 8th grader (rising to those grades) to review and get ready to Ace math as last year was a bit of a bummer. The 8th grader was super enthusiastic after he hunkered down and started going through the latter chapters although at first there was a lot of bad attitude. My 7th grader is a lazy daisy but she has an ego and loathes being beaten grade wise. So I think her interest will perk considerably once school starts in September. This is a great book. I wish I’d known about it when my younger two started middle school. Buy it. Keep it on the shelf for those middle school years, and make your kids read through it for an hour or two every week. The guidance is clear cut. Parental help unnecessary, but if you are a helpful parent (I’m more demanding than helpful, to be honest about it), you’ll enjoy the logical way things are laid out and presented.

I ordered this book for summer skimming for my incoming 6th grader, who “hates” math. As a math lover myself, I have made it my mission to help my child tolerate math in hopes she may, one day, really like (if not LOVE) math. After the first week of school, my kid came home with her math class syllabus and the teacher laid out the school year’s math plan, listing all the units she would be teaching unit-by-unit. Unit 1 – Ratios & Unit Rates. I looked at the table of contents; there’s a chapter on that. I compared the syllabus to the table of contents of this magical little math book and we matched perfectly (in different order). There’s a chapter on each unit for 6th grade math. I tackled Ratios and Unit Rates with my daughter in about an hour. She was actually happy to see familiar material, explained in a way that clicked for her. She said the content of the book was “relevant” (she’s got an extensive vocabulary for an 11 y/o) to what her teacher was teaching in class. I plan to use it as a supplement all year long. It’s a great little guide for your middle schooler and to be honest, a nice refresher for me.

Great book. Attractive enough to make you want to pick it up and read it. The graphics are colorful, the font is clear, and the highlights and titles are in bold print. Chapters are color coded. Check Your Knowledge questions and answer page included. Contents list all the units and it’s coverage. What makes this book stand out from all the others is that it includes all the important information broken down in easy to understand text and simple to read maps. It’s all you need to know and that’s it. There are a total of 5 subjects in this series: they include Math, Science, English Language Arts, World History, American History in the series and we have all of them. This is definitely worth the investment. Parents will find this book and series simple to explain to your child and/or read with them. Nothing complicated. Buy this book and the others in the series. I highly recommend it.

We purchased this book to help my spouse study for a teacher certification exam, and it ended up being so much more than we expected! I’m an educator, but I normally teach performing arts. During homeroom and study hall, I have often been asked to help students with homework. After flipping through this book, I knew I needed a copy for my study hall classroom. The concepts are so clearly explained in kid-friendly language. The design of the book is colorful, engaging, and simple to use. I would recommend it to teachers and parents of middle school students!

Middle school teacher here. I bought this book to help me review for my Praxis content area test. Each unit is color coded and is basically organized by type of math. The first unit is focused more on basic operations while the last is on graphing. Each unit has individual chapters on each subject. For example, multiplying decimals, +- negative numbers, long division, etc. Each subject has a few explanatory written pages with examples and ends with a “Check your understanding” page. This has about 10 sample questions for that chapter, with the answers on the following page. I LOVE the organization in this book. It is simple but amazingly thorough, easy to follow with LOTS of practice problems. Whether you’re studying for practice, learning alongside your child so you can help them with homework, or just a kid yourself, I HIGHLY recommend this guide.

Using this to help my cousin practice math for 6th grade. I was a math major and I did some college and high school math teaching. I like the book because it’s straight to the point, looks pleasing, has practice problems and answers.
I think if there were more problems, the book would be too fat and heavy. You can print math problems for free from the internet.
I am hoping this book would be good for him to keep through middle school that he can flip through for a quick review. Reviewing notes is important for maintaining or retrieving memories. I also like how it is sturdy and not floppy so it will hopefully withstand the test of time.

I am a 61 year old mother and Nana and I am very much involve in my children (4 adopted) and grandchildren’s education (including my two grandchildren who are in college). My son had a difficult time with six grade math last year. He’s now in 7th grade and his sister is in six grade. I vowed to do whatever I need to do to get them the tools they need to overcome their fair of math. I maintain open communication with all their teachers throughout the school year. I wrote all of that to say, this, my daughter’s six grade teacher recommend that I get this book so that I can work along with my kids and I am so impress with how well it has been working for my kids that I purchased an additional copy for my grandson who’s in eight grade. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking additional help in middle school or for parents who wants help in order to be able to help their children. So far my daughter, my son and my grandson have all received tremendous improvement in their understanding of math and are enjoying this book.I am so impress that I ordered the science book, the World History and the American History and they just arrived yesterday. Love it

This is an excellent learning tool for any middle schooler struggling in Math. My sixth grader has failed two tests and was resistant to the help and extra practice worksheets we were offering at home. As soon as she got this book, she was captivated by the content! She immediately used it to help her on her test corrections assignment. She was so proud that she finally figured it out! Then she asked if she could go ahead and learn about the new section she begins on Monday!! This book has done what a certified teacher, tutor, YouTube videos, and parental help could not!

The book is well written with easy to understand explanations. I have a Masters degree, so have had math through college algebra, but wanted to brush up on percents and basic concepts. I would have loved this book in childhood. My teachers were less than adequate, this book taught me how to do word problems. The problems are easy when you know how to set them up. All this education and not one of my instructors taught me these easy to understand basics. Do yourself, or your children a favor and purchase this book.

The best $10 investment I’ve made. This book has taken away the frustration of doing math for my grandson in 4th grade. The presentation is genius. In one semester he has test scores and comprehension have greatly improved. He keeps it at his desk at home for reference and finds the graphics and lessons easy to understand. We have since invested in the Everything You Need to Know to Ace Science and waiting for the release of Everything You Need to Ace Computer Science and Coding.

So a friend recommended this series of books and I have to say that I am so impressed with the quality of the content and the format. We all had that friend in school who did great in class and took the best notes. So the genius who put this together was probably that same person 🙂 I highly recommend to have this as a reference its’ great for the kids to understand and use when needed and honestly, even for us parents homeschooling or not to get us out of a quick bind on how to explain a concept.

Seriously, why aren’t school textbooks more like this??? This book has claims to contain all of the late-elementary/middle-school math concepts one needs to know, and I believe it. The explanations are concise and clear. All vocabulary terms are clearly defined and are easy to find. There are some practice problems contained, but probably not enough to firmly cement a concept, so I recommend getting a supplement workbooks for additional repetition. But this is an excellent foundation for teaching and presenting math topics for all who are ready to move on from basic addition/subtraction/multiplication/division. This is a great resource for parents who are finding themselves having to be at-home teachers without the benefit of educational methods training.
If I had to nit-pick, I would say that the layout is visually dense and might benefit from greater spacing on a larger page format. But it’s designed to have an informal look of a shared notebook from the “smartest” kid in class. I have NO regrets purchasing this book!

Working with my 14 year old through this book, who struggles with math.
Simple, easy to read, demystifies math, and the format (it looks like a kid’s notes inside) seem to put my son at ease. He actually likes working through math with me when we use this book. The step by step lessons are a pace that doesn’t skip steps and leave him behind, nor are they arduously long. Doable, little, daily lessons. (That’s how we have done it over the summer). He feels more ready to face math class this fall.

This is my favorite workbook series to use to help teach my son’s homeschooling curriculum! He seems to really enjoy all of the books and the short chapters keep him engaged and not feeling overwhelmed. He’s even gotten to where he will work on his subjects on his own, then we go over his answers together. Each book has fun illistrations, tips, and answer key. Very easy to read, follow, and retain info being taught. I love the organization of the books as well. Couldn’t be happier! Great quality and very educational!

This book is awesome- I have a homeschooler who hates math- can’t connect with it- just really struggles- until we got this book- if you have a middle schooler that struggles I would highly recommend this book- It’s so easy to understand and so builds confidence as they go along which is so important- just stay on the chapter till they get it- if they still don’t get it just keep going back to something they can get and build on that- I worried for a long time that they were behind and wouldn’t ever be able to catch up but I’ve learned to just go their speed and work with what they can do- this book helps with that issue too- if they don’t get first part of book start going back to math they get- build from there and don’t worry about it!!

This book has a lot of good topic. My 7th grader use it as reference whenever she is stuck with a homework problem. Great to be able to use it during this time. Especially her mom isn’t good at math at all and I am not always there to teach her. Google result might not always be good and reliable. And sometimes might be too hard for some kids to understand. This book is written at a level that kids will understand. So IMO it’s better than for a kiddo to search blindly on Google.

When a friend asked me to help tutor her middle-school age daughter, I thought “How can I do this? It’s been almost 30 years since I last saw a math book!”. I found this “Everything You Need” book, and it was a life-changer. It has all of the explanations and notes to quickly bring me up to speed so that I can actually help my friend’s daughter. I liked it so much, I got a copy for the student as well. This really is a great book.

*******UPDATE 2020*********
I LOVE this book!!! This book has helped refresh my memory so I can help both my middle school and high school kids with their math. All of my big kids are using this book as a reference whenever they have questions now!
Thanks to Covid-19 my kids are stuck home with me learning virtually. Since I am right next to them all day, I am the person they come to with math questions. I haven’t used middle school (or high school) math in FOREVER so I found myself needing to google equations to refresh my memory. If you haven’t googled algebraic equations recently, best of luck! There are so may different equations I would have to sort through to find the one I was looking for. Finally, I remembered purchasing this book for my daughter last year. I asked her if she still knew where it was and if I could borrow it for a quick refresher lesson. This book was the ONLY book on her desk. Apparently, my use of the book is the first time it has left her desk area. She finds this book so useful that she is very concerned about losing it (she is the most disorganized child I have, despite my efforts to help her be organized).
Anyway… I started flipping through the book and was amazed! It is so clear and concise and easy to read. It is color coded to make navigating the book and each page easier. It is written in a very easy to understand manner so you don’t get lost in the words before you figure out the math. It teaches without being complicated and it is brief enough to be a great reference. This book has helped refresh my memory so I can help both my middle school and high school kids with their math.
*******PREVIOUS REVIEW*******
I purchased this math book for my daughter when she was struggling in 7th grade math. She referred to it quite often at first but, with the way this book is set up, the information started really sinking in and making sense and she needed to refer to it less and less. By the end of the year she was using this book as a reference book for when she got stuck on odd or very difficult equations. This is one of the very few books that she keeps track of (even over the summer!). I would highly recommend to anyone with a middle schooler!!

So most people don’t know how to study for math and therefore “hate math”. This book does a good job of explaining definitions which is essential for continuing to build on what you know. If you don’t know what an integer is or what the difference between factors and/or multiples, this book does a great job of “reinforcing” what the kids are learning in school. We use this book for that purpose. They learn the topics and then we take a look at how they explain the topic in this book to ensure that the material is presented in a way that they can understand. I’d give it a 5 stars, they do a good job of explaining the basics which are essential to progress.

This was a great book for my 6th grader. He used this, along with his textbook, to study for a placement test to skip ahead a grade (from PreAP 6th grade math to Algebra I. He studied this book and used his textbook for additional problem practice. He liked to way the concepts were presented in this book – simple and straightforward. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a foundational understanding of the concepts and a bit of applied practice. Additional practice problems can easily be found other places for additional reinforcement.

I told my son I’m writing a review on this product and asked him his thoughts. He said to say, “Ten out of ten. It helped my son in math.” So, there you you go!He’s in 7th grade pre-Algebra, doing virtual school. He does not have Zoom classes or anything, which essentially means I am the teacher. Ugh. Poor kid. I struggled in math all through school. So when he came to a challenging unit, I’d study the night before or watch all these youtube videos. We even tried tutor.com. Finally, I ordered this book.It did the trick. The language and examples are clear and to the point. The topics are easy to find. I even like the font. It is so comforting having this as a resource for him AND me. It has covered everything we’ve needed. I’m so thankful I found it!

I have taught middle school math for 8 years, and I am so grateful a student brought this book to my attention several years ago. It really does cover nearly all grade 6-7 common core topics (and many grade 8 too), and it does so in very tween-friendly language. The format and style of the book also appeals to them a lot. If I could have, I would have ordered one for every student but just loaned out my copy regularly. Better than most textbooks for explanations kids understand. Can even help adults who need a refresher.

Bought this for my 11 year old who is approaching middle school very soon. While math isn’t always a struggle subject, sometimes things get a little overwhelming. This book, the way they break it down and add humor and everything that went into the making of this book (all of them, really) made everything much easier to understand. Highly recommend it as a support to your child’s in school coursework (great for homeschoolers too!).
C*** K*** –
My sixth grade grandson needed a way to refresh what he was hearing from his teacher on his remote math classes. We developed a routine, where he’d review the assignment, then look it up in this wonderful book, consulting it as he went. If necessary, we’d find a complementary lesson on You Tube. He brought his math grade up to a B+ for the first time ever. He says he’ll carry the book in his backpack all through middle school. This was just what he needed to give him confidence in his weakest subject.
Yaritza Cruz –
I really liked the way the informtion was layed out, might seem sipmle for other people but it helped me retain more information, my Parents got me this as seeing I was failing my Pre-Ap 7th grade math class and I understood everything, It might be difficult for some people to understand as it is a bit worded differently. Not all the things you will learn about are going to be in this book, I wouldn’t say that it’s challenging so keep that in mind. Overall it was great.

I have used this book in my classroom over the last several years. In fact, a few years ago, one of my students observed me using the book and wanted to know where he could get one. He was able to obtain a copy and he excelled in his mathematical reasoning and computational skills. I have purchased several copies for family members who have children in middle school.
Capri Rogers –
I’m studying for a placement test so I can take a math class at the local community college. This book is extremely helpful!!! It’s a great study guide because it breaks everything down in a simple way that I can understand. I’ve always had trouble with math and now I feel more confident in my ability to do it. I expect to get a high score on my math test.
Andrea Anderson –
My daughter had some not so great middle school math teachers and had two years of “new” math in elementary school which led to her missing some concepts and hating a subject she used to like. This book has really helped her to understand the concepts more and to do better in high school math. She keeps saying “Why couldn’t my teachers have taught it this way?” I highly recommend it especially if your child is missing one or more of the building blocks they will need for higher math.
Billie M. –
This book is a wonderful resource to use while homeschooling my middle schooler. Everything is laid out in an easy to understand manner, including examples of the various types of math problems that it covers. It also includes practice problems, along with the answers. It is NOT a stand alone text book, but is certainly helpful. Whether a child is being homeschooled or is in public school and needs a little extra help, I highly recommend it.
Miriam M. –
I got this as a quick review for college level algebra – my middle school education was somewhat lacking – and this is an excellent, succinct, and clear review of all the basics, and it was all the prep I needed to be on par with the class.
I ended up buying two of these; (count this as a double review) I bought a copy for a friend in my class who had trouble with his math background as well. It was really helpful for both of us.
I intend to buy books in other subject from the the “Big Fat Notebook” collection.

This book is awesome. My middle- and high school kids sometimes come to me with math homework they don’t understand. This book has everything, and it’s all explained simply with colorful illustrations. Sometimes I myself don’t understand my kids’ math homework! Hahahaha! I even recommended it to my coworker, and she agrees – this book is really helpful!
T. Arrogante –
Got this for my 6th grader for Christmas. She wasn’t thrilled but says she thought, ok cool, maybe I’ll use this some day… haha. She’s pretty good at math already but I figured it could help when we come to those units that mom and dad just can’t help with. Well, less than 2 months later, she’s telling me how absolutely awesome and helpful this book is. She’s come across some challenging things in class and took a look through the book – she says she now completely understands what was confusing to her just last week. She can’t wait to go to math class now and not be somewhat lost. She feels like she can participate and not be scared that she’ll get the wrong answer. I HIGHLY suggest this book for anyone on the fence. Complete confidence booster for anyone that may be struggling, even the slightest bit. I also got her the computer science one at Xmas and she said it’s teaching her new coding things so she is loving that one as well. I think I’m going to get the rest of the set!
Tonya –
I’m in love with this book! I have already ordered three more and plan on ordering the rest. I just joined college after 16 years, and I have tried many things online, purchases and all. I needed something straight to the point, and this is perfect. I am not the brightest crayon in the box, and the mambo jumbo of a regular math textbook confuses the crap out of me. I NEED everyone in the same position to stop looking because the author is a genius!
Thank you for your time,
T.T. WOOD

This is by far the best math book. Well explained, doesn’t leave you wondering where did that # come from or how did they come up with that. Great for anyone who needs a better understanding, even better than the typical school text books. To the author; Thank you for writing this, I can’t wait to read the rest.
Doll19 –
Very nice book that explains the problem along with illustrations. I’m going to purchase the entire set including high school! So that she’ll be more prepared. This book is pretty easy for my child since already being gifted and in all advanced classes. I would definitely recommend.

i am in my sixties and thought it would be nice to read the series of books which are easy to read and understand. i am also amazed how much information is in each book. i wouldnt suggest that kids read only these books to pass classes, but they are written in a better form to read and comprehend the contents

I’m using every book from the middle school series for my 6th grader and I’m VERY happy to have found these. Like a lot of schools today, my daughter’s doesn’t use any textbooks and everything is on an iPad. Maybe that works in the school (I’m not so sure of that, it seems it’s just easier for the teachers) but it’s positively messy and difficult to sort out the online lessons and activities at home when I’m trying to help her with problem areas or to check her knowledge level on a subject. These books help me to bone up on the material before I try to teach at home and they serve as an excellent reference for her to use. How is she supposed to review a topic or formula from two weeks or two months ago when it’s buried in her iPad lessons/activities under vague titles? She can use these books with well laid out table of contents and indexes to find it quickly. The material is pretty comprehensive for her grade level, written very well, and presented in such a way that a middle school student will be attracted to it. I did add a traditional math textbook on top of these; in my opinion this subject requires additional practice and explanation (even beyond the the workbook from this series). On top of all that, the books are priced very cheap for the content they have. Looking at them I would expect they be priced $15-$20 each.

As a homeschool parent who is absolutely horrible with math this book is a great tool. My son is in a homeschool program that has zoom classes and is teacher lead but still math is not his strong suit. I am always on the lookout for any extra tools that can offer help. This book was recommended to me so I quickly snapped it up. It’s an awesome little reference book to have around.

My son finished spectrum math grade 8 and a prealgebra workbook. Before starting high school level algebra, I decided to get this book to review the middle school math. Perfect. Well organized. Quick and comprehensive explanation with a few questions for practice. Not too difficult. One chapter per day.. about 4 to 5 chapters each week. Done in a few months. Ready for algebra1 now.

Rather for those who want to brush up on Math or learn more than you knew before. I liked this book very much, it was great because the format was different and laid back. The only dislikes I have with it is some of the answers were wrong, but that happens in literature so if it seems wrong check the work through other parties. Overall I’m very pleased and would recommend from kids to adults, specially if one is a visual learner, with colorful text and figures to highlighting tips. Now this book doesn’t give you everything or always explain the best so always use other sources with the book as you go along and you’ll have an engaging time learning Math skills.

I love reading this book and then torturing my 6th grader with algebra math thought bubbles that continuously come out of my head.

Whether you are a homeschool family or traditional schooling family you need this book! At first when I opened it, it looked overwhelming. I even thought how would my middle schooler, age 12, with asd and adhd ever be able to follow all of this easily. It looked like someone just highlighted a whole book and unorganized… BUT once you begin actually reading it you easily and clearly can se show simply it is laid out and to follow. I homeschool my special needs child and my other child goes to traditional school. This book has not only helped explain concept to my 12 year old in a way she easily can understand and follow without a million steps to get to a solution, but it also helped me remember things I may have forgotten and to be able to explain things to her in a more productive way. This whole book series are staples for all school aged children.

Home schooling the grandson and math is not my forte so I bought this book to help. We are almost done with the 7th grade and will have covered almost everything in the book by June. I don’t require him to memorize all of the formulas (e.g., surface area of composite figures) but it’s good to be able to easily find them. I still use an online school for credit and google to supplement but this book has been like our text. Highly recommend.

If you have a sixth grader, this book is invaluable in helping with their math. I am hoping that it will also help with seventh grade math this year.
