Rosen’s Discrete Mathematics and its Applications presents a precise, relevant, comprehensive approach to mathematical concepts. This world-renowned best-selling text was written to accommodate the needs across a variety of majors and departments, including mathematics, computer science, and engineering. As the market leader, the book is highly flexible, comprehensive and a proven pedagogical teaching tool for instructors. Digital is becoming increasingly important and gaining popularity, crowning Connect as the digital leader for this discipline. McGraw-Hill Education’s Connect, available as an optional add on item, is the only integrated learning system that empowers students by continuously adapting to deliver precisely what they need, when they need it and how they need it – ensuring class time is more effective. Connect allows the professor to assign homework, quizzes, and tests easily and automatically grades and records the scores of the student’s work. Problems are randomized to prevent sharing of answers and may also have a “multi-step solution” which helps move the students’ learning along if they experience difficulty.

Dont care for the subject, but the book came as promised

Useful purchase, using for studying, book vs soft-book philosophical matter

I am a math major and have read lots of books on descrete math and logic.
This is by far the best one I have read: it is comprehensive and well organized.
Some of the exercises may appear useless, but they are not. As you work your way through the chapters, you will realize that the exercises had a purpose in mastering the material.

In che cosa differisce l’edizione per gli USA?

Proofs and everything were great, but the examples didn’t help out once you got to the problem sets. There was a huge jump in difficulty.

This book covers the basics of discrete mathematics with an opening to broader computing projects. As an initiate in the study of computer science, I always believed that the mathematics of the “continuous element” was the most interesting part of engineering analysis. Apart from the necessary introduction to the notions of discrete probability, elementary theory of counting, the theory of graphs, and other additional topics, I did not give it the importance that it had. And this book showed me how wrong I was because it is a special book for those who decide to learn the discipline in a self-taught way. The way of explaining the topics is very clear, concise, and rigorous, and the exercises are organized according to what is exposed in the theory. There are challenges throughout the book, plus it presents the issues in their historical context, filling the book with very interesting biographical quotes. It is a fairly up-to-date book regarding the results of unsolved problems and presents an extensive and explained bibliography that references the subject. In particular, combinatorial analysis and graph theory are presented in a way that satisfies the awake reader. The entire book is presented as separate units and is very enjoyable for anyone who wants to take this discipline seriously. It is an excellent introduction to the subject, a preamble to further studies of algorithms and computation.

Heavy book, probably only used it a couple times during the school year, it uses big words, and explains concepts well.

Exactly what it offers, comes in paper back.

Nice choice, if you want to have All-in-One guide! Recommended to programmers who doesn’t have knowledge of Applied Maths and wants to be “educated programmer”, not just “text editor, typist” who just types commands on C++ or other prg. language. Of course you can go deeper, and read separate books for algorithms, probability, graphs, end etc. Just, you need to by “some amount” of books and spend “some amount” of time to read them.
Satisfied with sailor – package came in time, with good (cardboard box) packaging!
Thanks!

And got more questions, however, I don’t find it easy to understand what the question is asking about. Maybe if it got some more sample questions, harder sample questions could help more.
