This bestselling author team explains concepts simply and clearly, without glossing over difficult points. Problem solving and mathematical modeling are introduced early and reinforced throughout, providing students with a solid foundation in the principles of mathematical thinking. Comprehensive and evenly paced, the book provides complete coverage of the function concept, and integrates a significant amount of graphing calculator material to help students develop insight into mathematical ideas. The authors’ attention to detail and claritythe same as found in James Stewart’s market-leading Calculus bookis what makes this book the market leader.

Great book
Jake DeBeliso –
I have never been the greatest at math, i have also never had a math book that has gone over the material in so much detail. The way that book explains the sections is made very simple and straight forward. The most important aspect of the textbook is the ability to check your answers in the back of the book. If you’re in a math class and possibly having a tough time comprehending the material, I highly recommend this text!

The book was in great condition but just be aware that there is NO web access code. It’s just the book. I originally bought it for the access code and because I like have a physical book, I was disappointed that there was no code and returned it as soon as I could. The seller made no issue and encouraged that i return it and buy the book with the code which by the way is more than twice the price so, NO thanks. I’ll stick with the E-book.

It was really clean and nice.

The book was in great condition. Even better than the books you can rent for class at my college book store. Renting this book was still well over a hundred dollars, and I purchased the book here for 80 something. Very happy with the price and quality.

It was better than I expected

I bought this for one of my math courses for college it was labeled “Good Quality” but when I got it looked like it was new and it’s all for the purchase of $17 for me, I would highly recommend buying from here if you’re under a tight budget. The only thing from this order that I did not get was the purple binder with it, but not much of a hassle. Best used if it’s put in a 2-inch binder.

Lots of answers to practice problems and lots of problems to practice. Explanations are clear and concise. Lots of detail in this book.

Arrived on time and was a good price. Book was pretty easy to follow and understand, even if our professor mainly just used it to assign homework problems.
JSO –
It’s used in honors algebra II/trig at his college-prep school. I have no idea whether it’s any good or not, but he doesn’t complain!

The product was ordered to use at college, however as it turns out the book wasn’t needed. I returned the book with no problems.
Josh –
It was exactly what was advertised haha, the book was advertised as in excellent condition and I haven’t found any issues with it.
Liz –
It’s good but I didn’t check that there was no access code. Imma return and just get the online version through cengage.
Mark Nettles –
This is a typical, great Stewart book!
Jonathan Swearingen –
It was in good condition for a used book, well worth the money I saved buying it from them.

Some methods were innovative but a few techniques were omitted that make finding solutions later more difficult– for example to solving sets of linear equations. After introducing translations of linear equations where it serves little purpose, it omits its application value in graphing parabolas hyperbolas and ellipses, and their three dimensional counterparts.

Muy buen libro introductorio. Te deja con buen nivel en álgebra y trigonometría para hacer un grado en alguna carrera de ciencias, con esto no quiero decir que te deje sobrado o que solo con este libro se cubran las matemáticas necesarias del grado.

For each example in the text, there is a reference to beginner practice exercises in the exercise section. This is a great motivator. The visual design is lavishly good. There is no beginner calculus chapter, but the whole book is excellent preparation, a good precalculus work. Fourteen chapters with dozens of exercises in each.
